Volunteers are the lifeblood of nonprofit organizations, whether they are carrying out the mission, fundraising or answering the telephone, your organization wouldn't work without them. We owe it to our volunteers to use their time as wisely as possible and that means finding out what works for other organizations and often, implimenting new technologies to manage them more strategically.

In Volunteer Management, technology is at its best when used in a way that makes working with volunteers easier and helps you to communicate more effectively. In this three hour session, we'll learn from the organizations getting the best results how to best use technology to the benefit of our organization and volunteers. During this session, we'll discuss databases and what is most important to track, which kind of reports are necessary to show a successful program, the possibilities of integration with your organization's donor management system and online recruitment tools. This session is designed to provide ideas and inspiration by collaborating with seasoned volunteer managers – completion of the Certificate in Volunteer Management with the Edyth Bush Institute is required.

In this session, you will:

  • Understand the importance of using your database strategically
  • Identify ways to streamline correspondence
  • Learn new recruitment methods

Who should attend? Designed for volunteer managers with a minimum of two years’ experience and graduates of the Certificate in Volunteer Management program.

Tuition:$80 Members  |  $160 Nonmembers
